Best suite hotels in Washington, DC

Updated October 5, 2026

A suite gives you a separate living area, and often a kitchen, for not much more than a standard room. That matters in Washington, DC: families on a museum trip, groups sharing a room, and anyone in town for a week of meetings all get more space and can skip some restaurant meals.

Below are the suite hotels guests rate highest, grouped by area. Every pick is close to a Metro station, so you can reach the National Mall without a car.

Upper Northwest: more space, direct Metro access

If you don't mind a 20-minute Metro ride to the Mall, Upper Northwest offers bigger suites at calmer prices, with shopping and restaurants at Friendship Heights.

Tips for booking a suite in DC

Prices are highest during the Cherry Blossom Festival (late March to mid April) and when Congress is in session. Weekends are often cheaper than weekdays at business hotels downtown.

Room names vary: "suite" can mean a full two-room suite or a studio with a sofa bed. Check the room size and beds on each room type before you book, and turn on the free-cancellation filter if your plans might change.

Good to know

Is it better to stay in DC or in Arlington?
Downtown DC is closest to the monuments and museums. Arlington and Alexandria are connected by Metro and often cost less, so they're a good choice if you're happy with a short train ride.
